Join the nationwide day of solidarity with Minnesota.
Friday, January 23 is a National Day of Solidarity and push for corporate accountability led by Minnesota organizers and national allies.
SHINE the LIGHT (an initiative of The Beacon- www.BeaconforDemocracy.org): For a bold, inclusive, compassionate democracy that lifts everyone. Resist hate, fear, cruelty, and despair Bring yourself, a chair if needed, water and a positive sign. (Please no profanity, and please no slogans that denigrate other’s beliefs. We do not aim to shame nor alienate neighbors; instead to create a safe, welcoming community for all who support democracy.) .Or just come and hold one of our signs! We always have some extra signs! As the winter approaches and it is darker please bring lanterns, flashlights etc…
Reminder: please stay out of the street and do not block the sidewalk. Be prepared to shout “HAVE A NICE DAY!” to any negative comments.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
Together, we are building visible resistance and organized compassion, meeting our neighbors, and joining together in acts of solidarity.
