Hello, welcome to HOTH! Each week we meet at the Capitol on the ground floor. We reach out to our legislators and address issues we care about.

This week, Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice has asked for our help.
🚨 HF2296 subcommittee meeting at noon in room 315🚨

3 things you can do before Tuesday morning!

    1. Call and/or email leaders of the Senate Local Government Committee. Simply tell them that HF 2296 is a bad bill, that community ID card programs are good public safety tools and that they should cancel the subcommittee meeting.

    Scott Webster scott.webster@legis.iowa.gov 515.281.3371
    Mike Bousselot mike.bousselot@legis.iowa.gov 515.281.3371
    Renee Hardman renee.hardman@legis.iowa.gov 515.281.3371

    2. Call and/or email the members of the subcommittee. Tell them the same thing, that HF 2296 is a bad bill, that community ID card programs are good public safety tools and that they should cancel the subcommittee meeting.

    Cherielynn Westrich cherielynn.westrich@legis.iowa.gov 515.281.3371
    Kevin Alons kevin.alons@legis.iowa.gov 515.281.3371
    Herman Quirmbach herman.quirmbach@legis.iowa.gov 515.281.3371

    3. Show up in-person or virtually to the subcommittee meeting on Tuesday (03/10/2026) at 12:00 PM in room 315. You can also leave comments here.

You can reach your Representative and Senator in the Iowa Legislature – Give them your address and they will route to your Rep./Senator

    State Senate – (515) 281-3371
    State House: (515) 281-3221
    Iowa Governor’s Office: (515) 281-5211

Together we’re showing up and making sure our elected representation hear from us.

A reminder: please do not bring any weapons to the Capitol.

    In solidarity,

    Indivisible 515
