WE’RE STILL STANDING!
CONTINUE TO SUSTAIN YOUR OPPOSITION TO THIS REGIME!
One year under this perverse, pretentious, and preposterous regime has wrought untold damage to our country including the murder of our countrymen. Therefore, we here firmly resolve to continue standing in passionate, nonviolent resistance against a fascistic, authoritarian government. We will not give up. We will not shut up. We will shout the truth of what we see with our own eyes. We will not let them get away with murder in our name. We will continue to peacefully and non-violently exercise our first amendment rights and demonstrate to them that we stand proudly and patriotically in opposition to their crimes.
Our coalition of partners across Mason County, and beyond: Independent Americans Opposed to Dictatorship, Dems in the Hood, Union Indivisible, Mason County Dems, the Mason County Dems Women’s Club, the 35th Legislative District Dems, and Concerned Citizens of Mason County Indivisible will join together in opposition to this fascist warmongering regime at the picturesque Port of Hoodsport.
IMPORTANT DETAILS BELOW…
HAVE FUN! We need to keep our energy level nurtured. Let’s celebrate that after a year of attacks WE ARE STILL STANDING for democratic values, and will together joyfully raise our voices. Bring some friends with you to raise their patriotic voices, too! Joy and hope are contagious! See you there!
DATE: Saturday, January 24, 2026
TIME: 11:30am-1pm
LOCATION: Port of Hoodsport-Ingvald J. Gronvold Park. 24100 US Hwy 101, Hoodsport, WA 98548
WE SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH FOOD AND SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVES: IF YOU ARE ABLE, please bring NON-PERISHABLE FOOD and SCHOOL SUPPLIES to donate to our local food banks and school children. Donations accepted under the canopy on the lawn. Many in our communities rightfully live in fear of illegal ICE activities and our families are being torn apart because of that. Thank you for helping your neighbors.
SAFETY: We are first and foremost a non-violent movement. Should verbal abuse be directed at us, we do not engage. We do not escalate rhetoric toward violence, we de-escalate. A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
The Mason County Sheriff’s department and Highway Patrol have been notified of our peaceful protest. You may see them cruise by on the highway and/or park in the area. As well, our local team of Peacekeepers wearing yellow vests will be in place to assist. Seek them out if you need assistance of any kind.
We will line up along the Port of Hoodsport promenade right next to the railing. Please be considerate of pedestrians and do not lean into traffic. Port-a-potties are available directly across from our staging location, and at the gas station. Please do not Jay Walk; use the two crosswalks to safely cross Hwy 101.
There will be a cooler of water, first aid support and a few chairs under the canopy on the lawn if you need a respite. Port-a-potties are available across from
PLAN FOR THE WEATHER: We are encouraging all able-bodied allies in possession of rain gear (and who isn’t in the PNW?!) to join us. What a fabulous witness it will be for our communities to see a cheerful band of die-hard protestors rallying against this evil regime despite the weather. Courage begets Courage.
PARKING: Parking’s limited in Hoodsport, so, if at all possible, carpool. There is a small public lot across from Ingvald J. Gronvold Park (i.e., the Port). Hoodsport Public Library’s parking lot is also an option, but if you park there, please refrain from taking a space directly in front of the building. Some street parking is available along U.S. 101 (northbound) in front of El Puerto de Angeles restaurant and (southbound) in front of Hood Canal Market or across from Hoodsport Coffee Company and Canalside Gifts. There are spaces in front of the Post Office (closed Saturdays) and the Hoodsport Visitors Center (both located along S.R. 119 aka N Lake Cushman Rd). Be forewarned: if you park in the Hood Canal Market parking lot itself or in front of Ace Hardware there is a chance you may be towed. Kindly refrain from parking on private property or blocking driveways.
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
