Stand Up for Democracy: Burleson

Show your support for the **First Amendment** and **Due Process** of law. And help your neighbors who are being harmed by disastrous, dangerous, and deadly Republican policies.

Join us at our usual Burleson location, on the sidewalk in front of the John Jones Well Fargo, at 1PM on Saturday, January 24, to donate nonperishable food and personal care products to support families in need. Donations will be delivered to local food banks including Harvest House, Crowley House of Hope, and the East Cleburne Community Center. Crowley House of Hope has specifically requested personal-care items including shampoo, soap, and toothpaste.

**This is a protest** (sign-waving event) as well as a **food drive.** Bring your signs, whistles, music, noisemakers, and portable essentials including water bottles. Bring a folding chair if you like. There’s plenty of room on the grassy slope below the sidewalk.

Our theme is inspired by the “Free America” movement: We walk away from fascism and towards a free America. We fight for a future that belongs to us all, and a future in which the Constitutional right of Free Speech is protected, and masked goons are _not_ above the law.

_A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values._
