## POSTPONED TO SATURDAY, JANUARY 31.
Citizens Bank publicly presents itself as a community-centered institution committed to social responsibility, yet the bank continues to maintain key financial relationships with CoreCivic and The GEO Group: two notorious, for-profit, prison corporations that support ICE.
In response, a coalition of progressive organizations across the Northeast will hold peaceful, coordinated standouts near regional Citizens Bank branches. Our event will be a **Honk-n-Wave**. 🚗👋🏻
🚗**Parking:** please park around the vacant red building near Staples, south of the entrance into the Queensbury Plaza shopping center.
**For this action, please keep your signs focused on these messages**:
📢Cages Aren’t Communities
📢De-ICE Citizens Bank
📢Citizens Bank: Invest in Communities, Not Cages
📢End Mass Incarceration
📢Say NO to CoreCivic and The GEO Group
📢No Banks for Cages
📢People Over Prison Profits
**Join *We Rise Saturday* immediately following this event** to bring signs with your other powerful messages. (This is a weekly vigil held from 12-1pm at the Civil War Monument in Glens Falls, just a couple miles down the road.)
*A core principle behind all the DE-ICE Citizens Bank events is a **commitment to nonviolent action**. We expect all participants to seek to **de-escalate** any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. **Please do not block the bus stop or pedestrian/vehicular traffic.***
> Learn more about Citizens Bank’s relationship to the private prison system:
> CoreCivic and The GEO Group build and operate immigration detention facilities for ICE, provide transportation services to ICE, and operate prisons for mass incarceration. Go to boycottcitizens.org or contact the De-ICE Coalition at de.ICE.CitizensBank@gmail.com.
> The coalition calls upon Citizens Bank to live up to its stated values by publicly committing to end its financial relationships with private prison and detention contractors as soon as legally possible. These actions are intended to send a clear message: corporations and financial institutions that enable harmful immigration and detention policies must be held accountable by the communities they claim to serve.
