Indivisible Brown County is gathering for an all-member meeting because we are living in what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called “the fierce urgency of now.” The decisions being made today—and the silence or action of Americans nationwide —will shape the country we hand to the next generation.
What began in March 2025 with three Brown County residents has grown into a powerful local force for democracy—hosting town halls, rallies, and educational events, and organizing the 5,000-person No Kings mega-march in Green Bay last October. That growth happened because ordinary people decided that now was the time to show up!
As the firehose of chaos and harm continues to pour out of Washington, one truth is unavoidable: this will only stop when enough people say no—and commit to sustained, organized civic action. Waiting is no longer neutral. This is the fierce urgency of now.
Over the winter, we’ve been intentionally building our teams so we can do more, reach further, and last longer. To increase our impact—and to prevent burnout—we need more Brown County residents to step into volunteer and leadership roles. When enough people share the work, everyone can stay in the fight.
This meeting is for anyone who has marched with us, attended an event, signed up for our newsletter, or felt that quiet (or not-so-quiet) nudge to do more. You’ll hear:
An overview of Indivisible National and Indivisible Brown County
Introductions to our current team and committee leaders
Time for questions and honest conversation
And a chance to choose how you want to help defend American democracy
We have roles for every skill set and every stage of life—artists and organizers, software engineers and safety marshals, cooks and hospitality leads, writers, designers, phone-bankers, first-aid volunteers, equipment haulers, and friendly faces who help welcome people at events. Our volunteers include high-school students, working parents, and people who have come out of retirement because they refuse to sit this moment out.
All positions are volunteer. No one here is paid—despite the noise coming out of Washington. What people do gain is something deeply sustaining: purpose, community, and friendships with some of the most wonderful people in Brown County!
The stress of watching democratic institutions under attack is real. But that stress is also uniting people who believe in America, in accountability, and the power of collective action.
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to step in, this is it.
This is the fierce urgency of now.
Come learn who we are.
Come meet people who may become lifelong friends.
Come help shape what happens next—for Brown County, for our country, and for the world.
We’re saving a seat for you
