Protesting 101: Know Your Rights

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the chaos, brutality, continued push of white supremacy and destruction of our democracy? Tired of being at home but don’t know what to do or are unsure what you are able to do? Come offline and join us in person to learn and engage with what it means to utilize your right to free speech. We will have scenarios to practice and gain some muscle memory. We hope that after you understand more of your rights, that you will feel more comfortable exercising them.

Protesting 101: Know Your Rights is designed for folks who are brand new to exercising their First Amendment right to peacefully protest. We’d like to reserve the limited number of seats for new protestors.
(If you have been protesting for a while and are ready for next steps, contact us. We can direct you to other appropriate training.)

We are SE WI Indivisible and we are a community that:
• educates about and supports free speech, justice, and liberty for all
• understands and advocates for policies that benefit all of us
• promotes civic literacy in order to expose misinformation

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
