Join the nationwide day of solidarity with Minnesota.
Friday, January 23 is a National Day of Solidarity and push for corporate accountability led by Minnesota organizers and national allies.
Please join us for our 47th consecutive community rally to Defend Democracy in beautiful downtown Bethel. While our overall theme is Defending Democracy, each week we pick a specific focus. On Saturday, January 24th, **11am – 11:30am**, our focus will be:
We Are Not Frozen
**We are expecting dangerously cold temperatures on Saturday. Therefore, we are SHORTENING THE RALLY TO 30 MINUTES and urge everyone attending to follow recommendations to avoid hypothermia and frostbite in near zero temperatures.
“To avoid hypothermia and frostbite in near-zero cold, dress in warm, loose layers, cover all exposed skin (especially hands, feet, ears, nose, cheeks, chin), stay dry, limit time outside, take breaks, drink warm non-caffeinated fluids, avoid alcohol, and stay active; if it’s dangerously cold, stay indoors, as frostbite can occur on exposed skin in minutes”..
There might be bitter cold temperatures but we are not frozen. We are not stuck in a frozen state, isolated or alone. We have built a community and people all across America are doing the same. We are not frozen with fear. We know our power and are standing up every day and saying:
NO to kidnappings by masked strangers
NO to jeopardizing our access to healthcare
NO to trashing our economy
NO to threatening takeover of other countries
Join us to hear some of the latest news of the week as well as more lessons from Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Save-the Date”: Feb 28th will be our 52nd rally, our 1 Year Anniversary. We plan a social gathering immediately after the rally. More details to come.
The rally is non-partisan. What this means is that like-minded people from diverse backgrounds are participating and are vital to our rallies. Defending Democracy crosses party lines: we have registered Republicans, Unaffiliated, Democrats, and non-voters, all coming together to fight for the rights of “We the People” to determine the type of society we want to live in.
Never miss information about upcoming rallies by registering for our rally newsletter, bit.ly/BethelRalliesNewsletter (case sensitive). You can also provide feedback on what you’d like to see at future rallies.

11:10 – 11:30 Sign holding and chanting
11:30am Disperse
***New Food Pantry list ***
We collect for Bethel’s food pantry each week. All non-perishable items are greatly appreciated, but the food pantry especially needs: canned and dried fruit, baking soda, baking powder, flour, Taco kits and seasoning, laundry detergent (small containers) and toilet paper. The pantry also requests clean empty egg cartons (any style).
We have tried to arrange the rallies so there is a little something for everyone: chanting, marching, themes with speakers, live music, fun trinkets, sign making. We appreciate every one of you that attends. Together we can voice our frustrations, build community, and also hopefully learn a little something from experts or your fellow neighbors’ experience.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. ❤️
Please park at one of the four public parking lots. We ask that you leave the limited street parking spots open so they are available for patrons of downtown businesses – but definitely enjoy our beautiful town’s restaurants and shops after the rally!
Bring your voice, your spirit, and your friends. Let’s make change visible.
💥 Because the fight for democracy continues through all seasons.
Thank you 😊
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
