    Robert Peters

    Indivisible National

Robert Peters has spent his life picking – and winning – principled fights.

A community organizer from the South Side, Robert got his start fighting for workers rights, voting rights, and economic justice. Appointed to the Illinois State Senate in 2019, his accomplishments for working people rival that of any lifelong civil servant. He led the fight to end cash bail in Illinois, has passed laws to raise the minimum wage and end the sales tax on groceries, and championed expanding healthcare access.

Serving IL-02 in Congress, Robert will work to roll back Trump’s attacks on our safety net, fight to institute Medicare for All, protect Social Security, and work to lower housing costs by banning out-of-state corporations from hiking rents. If elected, Robert will be the first Black Jewish Member of Congress.

Indivisible Chicago South Side endorsed Robert Peters because, in the battle against fascism, we need leaders like him. We’re proud to stand with Chicago South Side Indivisibles to support Peters in his run to be the next Representative for Illinois’ 2nd district.
