**Candidate Ryder Kessler will join us on Tuesday March 10th, at 10:00am ET.** Ryder Kessler is a child of the 66th assembly district: a gay kid born at St. Vincent’s Hospital who played little league basketball at Tony Dapolito and got his Bar Mitzvah cake at Veniero’s. When his parents moved to the village in 1980, his father was a cab driver and his mother was an artist. He grew up in a New York that was affordable for regular families–but today, the neighborhoods where he played as a child risk becoming a playground for the ultra-rich. Ryder is running to preserve the best of New York and ensure it remains accessible to everyone. As a local organizer and a member of Community Board 2, Ryder has worked with neighbors to tackle homelessness, street safety, and quality of life issues. Nationally, he’s worked on Democratic political campaigns up and down the ballot to fight back against the Trump agenda, specializing in voter protection to defend every citizen’s right to vote. In 2024, he founded a community nonprofit that now boasts 4,500 New Yorkers turning civic energy into real progress on housing, transit, climate, and electing progressive leaders.

We strive to build community, educate voters, and use our Sharpies to write to save democracy together. Write postcards with us or just join the conversation. If you need help getting started with postcarding, please visit our [FAQ](https://markersfordemocracy.org/postcarding/postcarding-faq).
