On March 28th, Pueblo will rise together.
Across the country, communities are gathering to reject authoritarianism and defend democracy. Here in Pueblo, we gather under a message that reflects the spirit of our city:
## El Pueblo Defiende al Pueblo – The People Defend the People
When our rights are threatened and our neighbors feel the pressure of rising costs and uncertainty, silence is not an option. Communities grow stronger by showing up for one another – and that is exactly what Pueblo will do
We will gather at ** Rawlings Library ** before marching together through downtown Pueblo to ** Sister Cities Plaza **, where the community will continue with a rally focused on connection, civic engagement, and shared purpose.
Throughout the plaza you will find ** community resource stations and volunteers sharing information ** on protecting voting rights, election protection, civil liberties, and ways people can stay engaged in defending democratic institutions.
This is not just a protest – it is a community gathering grounded in the belief that democracy works best when people participate and stand together.
On a day when many leaders and candidates from across Colorado will also be in Pueblo, this is an opportunity for our community to show strength, pride, and civic spirit that defines this city.
** Bring your voice. **
** Bring your friends. **
** Bring your pride in Pueblo. **
Because here we know one truth above all:
# El Pueblo Defiende al Pueblo.
*** A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to non-violent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should NOT be brought to events. ***
