Jessica Cisneros

State: Texas

Elected Office: U.S. Representative

Candidate District: TX-28

Reason for Endorsement:

Jessica is a Mexican-American human rights and immigration attorney born and raised in the border town of Laredo. A daughter of immigrant parents, Jessica saw first hand how laws written in Congress fail to address the issues facing working families like hers: lack of health care, scant job opportunities, and an inhumane immigration system. She’s running to represent her community with guts and passion and fight to protect our human rights, save our planet, defend democracy, and secure a more thriving future for working class families.

In 2020, Jessica came within 3,000 votes of toppling anti-choice, anti-labor, anti-environment incumbent Rep. Henry Cuellar. She’s back again to finish the job, because the hardworking people of South Texas deserve a representative who knows their stories, has shared their struggles, and is committed to fighting for them. Jessica is a next-generation progressive leader and we’re proud to endorse her in Texas’ 28th District.
