Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Mondaire Jones

State: New York

Elected Office: U.S. Representative

Candidate District: NY-17

Reason for Endorsement:

Mondaire believes that policy is personal and we couldn’t agree more. He didn’t come from money or a political family. He grew up in Section 8 housing and on food stamps, raised by a young, single mom who had to work multiple jobs to provide for her family. Growing up poor, Black, and gay, he never imagined that someone like him could get elected to Congress.

Yet those are the reasons we believe Congress needs Mondaire’s voice more than ever. He understands what it means to struggle. Though he persevered and was able to go to Stanford University, work for the Obama administration’s Justice Department and attend Harvard Law School, he knows that kids shouldn’t have to be exceptional just to get ahead.

Mondaire has earned Indivisible’s endorsement by running a people-centered campaign and showing that once he gets to Congress he will fight hard to implement progressive policies. Mondaire believes that Democrats should be fighting harder for what we say we believe in. He’s in this race to stop our climate crisis through a Green New Deal, pass Medicare for All, forgive student debt and make college tuition-free, and ensure that everyone can provide for themselves and their families. He knows that we need more representatives who are committed to social, racial, and economic justice, and who will fight for a democracy that works for everyone.

Rockland United nominated Mondaire Jones for a national endorsement. If you would like to join the group or get involved, you can find them on Facebook or on their website.
