Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Qasim Rashid

State: Virginia

Elected Office: U.S. Representative

Candidate District: VA-01

Reason for Endorsement:

Qasim is a proud immigrant and a human rights lawyer who has dedicated his life to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence and serve children from vulnerable communities. He has advocated hard for policies to help the working families of Virginia's 1st district and now he is ready to implement them.

We are endorsing Qasim because we know that there will be no better champion for progressive policies than an advocate that has spent years pushing for those policies from the outside. Qasim believes that systemic changes to improve the lives of everyone are possible and we know that he is committed to fighting for these changes and will live out his campaign’s motto of “Compassion Through Action.”

Too many of our laws and rules were written by lobbyists in Washington decades ago and no longer — if they ever did — reflect the needs and realities of the people. Qasim will fight to rewrite those laws. From his support for progressive policies like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All, to his fight for elections free of the influence of corporate PAC money, Qasim knows the remedies our country needs and he is committed to continue his fight, this time within the halls of Congress.

Williamsburg JCC Indivisible nominated Qasim Rashid for a national endorsement. If you would like to join the group or get involved, you can email them or find them on Facebook and Twitter.
