Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Demand Your Senators Cosponsor the DC Statehood Bill

American democracy is built on the promise that all people will have a say in our federal government through elected representatives who can then create and execute laws on behalf of the people. However, that is not the case for the 700,000 Americans who live in the District of Columbia who lack equal voting rights compared to their neighbors across the country. In fact, D.C. residents lack a voting representative in the House and have no representation in the Senate at all.

D.C. statehood is also a racial justice issue. Just under 50 percent of D.C.’s residents are Black. Historically, racist politicians have prevented D.C. from becoming a state to prevent D.C.’s Black residents from building political power. If D.C. is granted statehood, it will be the only state in the nation to have a plurality of Black residents.

Check to see if your Senator is cosponsoring the DC statehood bill. If not, call your Senators and demand they cosponsor and support D.C. Statehood. This is our chance to not only stand up for the rights of D.C. residents, but to build a stronger democracy that more accurately reflects our values of equality and fairness for all.

Call your Senator and Demand they Cosponsor and Support D.C. Statehood.

Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I am from [CITY/STATE]. I’m calling Senator [SENATOR NAME] to urge them to cosponsor and support the D.C. statehood bill. D.C. residents deserve control over their own city and budget, and to have two Senators and a voting-member in the House to represent them in Congress. Will [SENATOR NAME] cosponsor the D.C. statehood bill? Our democracy depends on it.

THANK YOU! Created with Sketch. THANK YOU!

Your call in support of D.C. Statehood makes all the difference! Call as many times as you can today and tell all your friends to call as well!
