Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Demand Your Senators Ensure Safe, Secure Elections During the COVID-19 Outbreak

We know that the coronavirus is scary, and we’re all making sacrifices to minimize any further spread of the virus. We have seen some states make the very difficult decision to postpone primary elections in an effort to reduce community spread of coronavirus. But we can’t let this public health crisis impede the functioning of our democratic processes. That’s why we’re recommending states start now to build alternatives to in-person voting so that nothing will put the administration of the November presidential election at risk.

Senator Elizabeth Warren introduced a new plan to assist states in expanding vote-by-mail for this November’s election. Senator Warren’s plan builds on the election protection bill previously introduced by Senators Wyden and Klobuchar and asks for $4 billion for election protection efforts. Call your Senator to demand they fight to get the Warren plan included in the next coronavirus relief package. Senator Warren's plan would:

  • Expand early in-person voting and no-excuse absentee vote-by-mail to all states.

  • Require states and jurisdictions to establish a publicly available contingency plan to enable eligible Americans to vote in the case of an emergency.

  • Require the Election Assistance Commission to create a domestic version of the federal write-in absentee ballot.

  • Require that all states provide envelopes with prepaid postage to all voters who request a voter registration application, absentee ballot application, or absentee ballot, and require that all states offer and accept online absentee ballot applications.

  • Require absentee ballots to be counted if postmarked or signed before the close of the polls on Election Day.

  • Provide money to states to implement these reforms.

Call your Senators to demand they fight to include Senator Warren's Election Protection plan in the next coronavirus relief package. In the third COVID-19 package, Congress provided $400 million for states to implement some of these changes. However, $400 million is not nearly enough -- we need at least $4 billion to fully implement these changes. We urge Congress to include these protections in the next coronavirus relief package. We are running out of time before the November elections.

Tell Your Senator to Include Senator Warren's Election Protection Plan in the Next Coronavirus Relief Package

Hello, my name is [your name] and I’m a constituent from [part of state]. I’m very concerned about how the COVID-19 Outbreak will affect the functioning of our democratic processes, particularly in-person voting. States need more robust vote-by-mail systems including offering mail-in ballots to any voter that requests one, extending vote-by-mail deadlines, and increasing drop-off locations for ballots.

Will the Congress member fight to include Senator Warren’s Election Protection plan in the next coronavirus relief package to assist states in expanding vote-by-mail? We must as a country act now to support states in building alternatives to in-person voting so that the COVID-19 outbreak does not put the November presidential election at risk.
