  • First Congressional District (MI-01) Meet the Candidates Forum

Historically, many voters in rural and remote communities have had limited opportunities to engage directly with congressional candidates in meaningful public settings. This event aims to change that by bringing the candidates to the voters of Michigan’s First Congressional District (MI-01)!

Join us for a 1.5 hour moderated panel discussion with candidates answering questions submitted by attendees, followed by one hour of casual meet-and-greet with refreshments.

    This event will be:
    – Non-partisan, with all primary candidates invited
    – Moderated and structured
    – Grounded in civility and respectful dialogue
    – Open and accessible to the public

Four candidates have confirmed their participation:
Kyle Blomquist – Democrat (Iron Mountain)
    Justin Michal – Republican (Grayling)
Zebulon Featherley – Independent (Traverse City)
Wayne Stiles – Democrat (Traverse City)

Hosted by Arenac Indivisible, Hale Indivisible, Ogemaw County Indivisible & Tawas Indivisible, with refreshments sponsored by Cafe International and Northwood Taxi Service.

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
