**Good Trouble Lives On** as we honor John Lewis and his commitment to civil rights, voting rights, and democracy. Join us in Ames as we participate in this national event on July 17 and 18, sponsored by the Ames Central Organizing Network (ACON).
**IMPORTANT NOTE ON EVENT FORMAT:**
* **Two-Day Event with Changing Locations:** This is a multi-part weekend of action.
Friday evening features community sessions spread across three different downtown Ames locations.
Saturday is a unified community picnic at Bandshell Park.

Nine sessions designed to bring us together as a community with the shared goal of learning what it means to take action in support of our democracy and community. Pick a location and join the conversation!

### Saturday, July 18 – Community Picnic & Celebration
Join our potluck and picnic at Bandshell Park! Bring a dish to share or a personal picnic and enjoy a day of fun.
**Saturday Schedule:**
* **1:00 PM** – Potluck and picnic begins
* **2:00 PM** – Games, community organization activities, and classic protest sing-along
* **3:00 PM** – **Live Music:** We will wrap up the day with ***Unique Vibrationz***, a local band that blends elements from Hip-hop, Soul, Jazz, Rock, and R&B.
**What to Bring:**

*Good Trouble Lives On* is a non-partisan weekend of action. A core principle behind all our events is a strict commitment to nonviolent action.
* **Non-Partisan Event:** Attendees are welcome to discuss and personally advocate for their preferred political candidates or ballot initiatives. However, we ask that participants commit to not actively campaign during the event.
* **Commitment to Nonviolence:** We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.
* **No Weapons:** Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
