How To Deepen Your Commitment to Civic Engagement

If you’ve been wondering what else you can do in these challenging times, Indivisible Ulster is offering the perfect opportunity for you to hear from people in our community who are already actively engaged. (This workshop is free; donations are welcome.)

You’ll learn about Neighbor-to-Neighbor, a voter outreach program in Ulster County that is all about building community and inspiration by connecting one-on-one with voters in our own neighborhoods. You’ll have an opportunity to role-play and call our elected officials so that you can feel more comfortable voicing your opinions–and you’ll learn why your voice matters! You’ll learn about hosting postcard parties and why these community-building events are not only fun but serve as a way to get more involved with issues that matter to you and will impact elections by encouraging voter awareness and participation. You’ll learn about writing letters to the editor, where to send them, and why they matter. And you’ll have an opportunity to hear about the challenging and critically important work that is being done in our Ulster County community to support our immigrant neighbors. We intend to create an environment that will be informal and interactive and will inspire you to become more actively engaged.
