ICE Out for Good Redwood city – MN Solidarity Day of Action

Indivisible Portola Valley JoAnn Loulan and SURJ Diana Reddy diana.94062@gmail.com ) are calling another emergency protest–this time FRIDAY JAN 23RD! 4-5:30 PM Our sisters and brothers in Minneapolis are asking for national support on that day to bring attention to the nightmare of ICE in their once peaceful city. They have arrested thousands that have no history of illegal activity and most are citizens that they have to release. The final straw was when an ICE agent shot Renee Good point blank in the face when her last words to him as she is driving away were “Dude, I’m not mad at you”…..they are investigating her retired military wife Becca Good who was in the car when the murder happened. Federal officials will not work with local law enforcement and will not investigate it as a murder, but that Renee and Becca were militants trying to kill ICE. When you watch the video there is no way she was doing anything but leaving. Minneapolis is asking for actions every day to impact the businesses that help ICE. Hilton Hotels house them, Target allows them to arrest their workers, Delta flies the deportees to illegal prisons outside this country, Home Depot allows ICE to take Day Workers, Enterprise rents ICE cars…AND FINALLY COME OUT TO THE STREETS ON JANUARY 23RD!
This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.

A broad coalition of groups across the country is calling for a coordinated Ice Out For Good actions on Friday, January 23rd in solidarity for Minnesota, and to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.

A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. All events should be held in public spaces or on public property.
