The Society of Rebellious Readers is a space for readers who are passionate about learning how to resist tyranny and fascism. Each month, we explore books that examine history, authoritarian movements, and the ongoing fight for democracy and justice. You do not need to read the book to join and discuss these ideas!
**Our book for February will be Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler.**
*Set in a near-future America collapsing under climate change, economic inequality, and political extremism. The story follows Lauren Olamina, a young woman who develops a belief system centered on adaptability and community as she navigates violence, displacement, and survival. It explores how ordinary people respond when institutions fail and asks what it means to build something new in the ruins of the old.*
