Tyranny Recovery Group: Recover and Cocreate a Healthy Nation

Many of us feel under constant pressure to fight or to submit. We are mobilizing and getting out there. While this is critical to the movement, also necessary is imagining the world that we actually want to live in.

What is the healthy nation we imagine living in when we fully confront authoritarianism—beyond ousting the current administration? How do we bravely act in ways that create solidarity, build healthy relationships, and enable responsible servant-leaders?

A healthy nation becomes first imaginable and then possible when we hear stories of people who have already created a society where trustworthy behavior is normal. A society where, when issues come up, people have a way of dealing with them that maintains mutual respect.

In this four-part series, we invite you to share your story of trust and self-accountability and hear Will’s research on healthy nations where people thrive in cultures whose way of life maintains a baseline of mutual respect. Together we will discuss living in a society where leaders are accountable and the people don’t feel pressured to be submissive and obedient.

It is our goal that you come away from these Zooms feeling excited about practical ways you could work towards building healthy communities and a healthy nation, and more clear about how beautiful life in a healthy nation could be.

Join Indivisible leader Sheridan Hill and gentle revolutionary Will Randolph to discuss moving forward from the current chaos to the other side.

Sheridan Hill is a retired biographer and third-generation campaigner for justice. Will Randolph lived in intentional community for ten years and is the author of “The Deepest Revolution.”
