+ Learn about four bills coming up in the new legislative session, meet with social justice organizations who are advocating for them, and how you can support these efforts.
The four State Bills are:
• [No secret police] disallows immigration enforcement from wearing face covering
• [Ban on 287(g)] disallows ICE from delegating immigration enforcement authority to local law enforcement
• [Sensitive locations] protects places like schools, playgrounds, hospitals, and places of worship from immigrant enforcement
• [Advocate for streamlined and fair licensing pathways for J-1 and other international teachers] recognizes international credentials, allows licensed international teachers to stay in Hawai‘i for 5 years, and provides equal pay
