##### Lakeland, FL
For 01/24, we are meeting at 4:00 pm at the intersection, but we will be more on the side in front of Starbucks and Louis Papa’s, but outside the mall, not inside the mall. Locally this is a small assembly, but we are in solidarity with many other groups throughout the nation demonstrating against Avelo, 287g agreements, and human rights abuses in small cities just like ours.

We are taking a stand for ICE abolition and against the removal of individuals without due process — violating the core principles of our republic.
This is a call to action. We’re joining forces to demand that Polk County end its involvement in unconstitutional detention policies.
# 🪧 Our Demands
✊ Polk County Government, it’s ICE or us.
You cannot serve both the people and an agency that tears families apart, starves humans, withholds water, denies medical care, kills people, forces humans into slavery, performs sterilizations without consent, and refuses to recognize U.S. birth certificates and REAL ID.
✊ Polk County residents: Boycott anyone profiting from ICE
✊ Polk County: End 287g agreement.
✊ DHS & James Uthmeier: No Alligator Alley Concentration Camp. No cages on sacred ground. 🐊
✊ ICE: Stay out of Florida. Stop terrorizing schools, hospitals, courthouses, and workplaces. End detention. Process only violent offenders with criminal convictions.
✊ LPD & PCSO: Do not cooperate with ICE. Arrest ICE agents operating without signed judicial warrants for violent criminal offenders.
✊ Sheriff Grady Judd: Stop collaborating with ICE until DHS reforms are complete. PSCO should not be helping send people to concentration camps.
✊Scott Franklin, Rick Scott, Ashley Moody: Defund & abolish ICE.
✊ Florida State Legislature: Ban the use of state taxpayer money for ICE operations. Pass legislation banning cooperation with ICE beyond what federal law requires.
# 🛑 WHY WE’RE PROTESTING
❌U.S. citizens and work permit holders — like Juan Carlos Lopez-Gomez and Heidy Sanchez Tejeda — have been detained without cause.
❌DHS & ICE have unilaterally seized protected land in the Everglades to create a 5,000-person prison with no A/C and no access to lawyers by raiding FEMA and charging the state $450 million, despite the objections of county and tribal leadership.
❌Children are being separated from parents, denied legal representation, and even deported during active custody disputes — like two-year-old citizen known as V.M.L.
❌Our Constitutional rights — due process, legal counsel, protection from executive overreach — are being ignored.

# 💡 TIPS
👍We are committed to nonviolence and having a peaceful assembly. Stay respectful in all interactions.
👍Be alert: impersonators and fake news outlets posing as independent media may be present. Verify credentials before giving an interview.
👍Don’t engage with trolls or agitators. They may pretend to be a fellow protester. If they are really interested, you can point them towards the pamphlets and literature that we have. Remember we are fighting for everyone’s rights, even the people that don’t agree with us and the ones that are really annoying.
👍Focus your energy on building unity and protecting our democratic, constitutional republic.
