Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Demand Your Senators Pass $2,000 Survival Checks

Since passage of the Heroes Act in May, Republicans have refused to be serious about relief, stubbornly adding poison pills into each fake offer, while Democrats have repeatedly called for expansive relief including expanded unemployment, survival checks, free access to testing, treatment and vaccines, debt relief, eviction moratoriums, and more.

After months of delays and bad-faith negotiations, Republicans finally agreed to pass a COVID-19 relief package in mid-December. While the bill is inadequate and we need to keep fighting for more, it included some desperately needed aid like enhanced unemployment insurance and food assistance. Progressives were even able to band together as a voting bloc to include survival checks in the final package.

Even though it passed both the House and Senate with overwhelming majorities, Trump spent days refusing to sign the deal, threatening both a government shutdown and a veto of the relief package. While he did finally sign the bill on December 27th, his temper tantrum has thrown millions of unemployed workers into uncertainty and many could see delays in receiving the benefits they rely on as a result. Part of Trump’s critique of the bill was that the survival checks of $600 were too small, and should be increased to $2,000. While his motives are deeply suspect, we agree that people need more help--and we’ve been saying so for months! Trump is only concerned with petty fights, but we can’t pass up this opportunity for additional relief.

Fortunately, House Democrats have already passed a bill to increase the size of the survival checks to $2,000. Chuck Schumer has promised that Senate Democrats will support the bill, too. Now, the only thing standing between the American people and additional cash assistance is Mitch McConnell and Republicans in the Senate. In order for this bill to pass, every Senator needs to hear from constituents demanding more assistance during this crisis.

Tell Your Senator to Pass $2,000 Survival Checks

Hello, I’m a constituent from [part of state] and I’m very concerned about people who are struggling to get by as the pandemic rages. $600 in direct cash assistance is simply not enough. The House  has already voted to increase the amount to$2,000. The Senate must also pass this bill right away, without making any harmful tradeoffs or concessions affecting other parts of the original  bill.

Will [Senator] support holding a vote and passing the bill to increase the direct cash assistance to $2,000? I will be closely watching for [Senator]’s actions on this and following up.

THANK YOU! Created with Sketch. THANK YOU!

Your call in support of increasing the direct cash assistance in the already-passed COVID relief bill to $2000 makes all the difference! Call as many times as you can today and tell all your friends to call as well!
