Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Washington, DC — Today, Indivisible announced its endorsement of Ammar Campa-Najjar in California’s 50th Congressional District.

“Ammar Campa-Najjar is a champion of progressive grassroots power.  In 2018, he worked closely with local Indivisibles to build local support and take on a racist and criminal Republican incumbent,” said María Urbina, Indivisible’s National Political Director.

“We're proud to endorse Ammar again this cycle as he campaigns against a Trump crony in one of the most competitive districts in the country. As an Indivisible candidate, he will be an important voice in the next Congress.”

Campa-Najjar narrowly lost to Republican incumbent Duncan Hunter in the 2018 midterm elections. The election drew national attention due to Hunter’s controversial campaign tactics and racially charged messaging. Hunter also faced charges of violating campaign finance laws.

“Ammar demonstrated his ability to strongly defend progressive ideals when he faced Duncan Hunter in the last general election. Even in a deeply red district, he conducted himself with integrity and displayed a dedication to progressive values,” said Diana Fink of Indivisible Fallbrook. “He has a keen understanding of this district and the issues that keep people awake at night. We are certain he will rely on these principles to guide him in the halls of Congress.”

To earn Indivisible’s national endorsement, a candidate must clear a tough three-stage process that requires broad support from local Indivisible group members at multiple points. All endorsed candidates must have a strong progressive platform aligned with our movement’s values and the enthusiastic support of informed energized voters in their district.
