Local Indivisible groups build and wield power in ways that individuals can’t. To create change, you need the collective constituent power that comes with working together, as Indivisibles.

Indivisibles organize -- which means building power and flexing at key moments. Indivisible Groups take action in their communities, build collective purpose, and create change.

We make calls. We show up. We organize. And we’ve built lasting collective power across the country, in our home towns. We’re Indivisible.

We’re a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

Tell your Senator to act now to save the US Postal Service

Trump is doing everything in his power to destroy the United States Postal Services (USPS) and make it impossible for voters to vote by mail during a pandemic -- slowing down Social Security checks and medications for seniors and veterans in the process. He's opposed emergency funding for the postal service and November elections contained in the House-passed Heroes Act, but denying USPS the funds it needs is only a part of his larger plan. As noted by the Washington Post:

Trump's partner in the project to destroy the Postal Service is Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, the GOP megadonor who has given millions of dollars to the Trump campaign and the Republican Party, and has been on the job for just two months. Soon after taking office, DeJoy ordered a series of changes in policy that shocked postal employees. He banned overtime and told carriers to leave mail behind at distribution centers, causing it to pile up day after day. Employees also report that sorting machines that help speed mail processing have been removed from postal facilities. The inevitable result has been slower delivery, with letters and packages arriving late and many Americans simply not getting their mail every day.

This is unacceptable – the Postal Service is not a tool of any political party, and it cannot be treated as such. The Postal Service belongs to the people.

On August 22, the House returned from recess to pass the Delivering for America Act, written by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), to respond to Trump's political games. Every Democrat and 26 Republicans voted for this critical bill. The Delivering for America Act would prohibit the Postal Service from implementing any changes to the operations or level of service it had in place on January 1, 2020, until the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, and it would provide $25 billion to make up for pandemic-related losses.  This legislation would maintain current service standards as well as the integrity of our elections and bedrock democratic principles.

The bill is now sitting on Mitch McConnell’s desk, and it’s up to us to make sure he hears from senators that letting this bill die is not an option. Trump continues to bash the Postal Service, and criticized McConnell for just holding a hearing to discuss mail delays across the country. But even Republican senators are feeling the heat from constituents complaining about mail delays and expressing concerns about the upcoming election. We all need to continue to make our voices heard, ensuring every senator knows we are watching.

The Senate MUST take up the Delivering for America Act and pass it immediately.

Call your senators today, Democrats and Republicans alike, and ask them to support the Delivering for America Act and to speak out publicly on the urgent need for the Senate to move this critical legislation.
