Urge Your Representative to Vote YES on the Protect our Democracy Act
During the Trump administration, abuse of power and corruption were standard. Trump and his lackeys did everything they could to exploit the presidency for their own personal gain, including interfering with the Department of Justice, obstructing Robert Mueller’s special investigation, and pardoning loyal cronies like Paul Manafort and Roger Stone.
The Protect our Democracy Act is a necessary bill that would stop another Trump-like authoritarian from abusing presidential power and prevent corruption in the Executive Branch. The bill consists of three major components:
- Preventing abuses of presidential power, including use of presidential pardons
- Increasing Congressional oversight on the executive branch
- Preventing foreign interference in elections
The Trump administration was a warning that the presidency is vulnerable to corrupt authoritarians. We must do everything we can to strengthen our democratic institutions and ensure the system of checks and balances remains intact.
