“We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it.” – POTUS Barack Obama, 2009
This May 1st, come to a community fair for the American Resistance.
America, the beautiful, land of the free and home of the brave, is in danger. Our rights are being systemically stripped away, our Black and brown neighbors are being rounded up and imprisoned unlawfully, and masked privatized military, modern “Storm Troopers,” patrol our streets. Elected and campaigning officials proudly proclaim their racism and bigotry as qualifications for public office.
We must protect our rights, liberty, and our neighbors. But how?
Come join local grass-roots organizations that are already fighting back this May Day. Ask them questions, learn about how you help or work with them, and join the American Resistance!
The First Amendment Choir will sing modern, as well as classic, protest songs, and you’ll hear from local activists on how you can personally make a difference.
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
