  • Southlake Saturday Street Protest After Callais – TX-24 Visibility Event

The dismantling of the Voting Rights Act is a reminder that we have unfinished business.

In the wake of Supreme Court Callais decision that gutted the Voting Rights Act across the South, Republican-controlled state legislatures are aggressively gerrymandering congressional maps and dismantling voting protections. The goal is clear: try to silence Black voters and Democrat voters before they can even cast a ballot.

Sixty years after civil rights organizers marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge demanding the freedom to vote, extremist politicians are once again trying to decide whose voices matter in America, and whose do not.

The No Kings coalition and people across the nation take to the street to make clear that our communities will not be pushed backward, our voices will not be silenced, and our power will not be denied.

Join this anti-racist, pro-Black movement at our Southlake Saturday protest. Join us on the sidewalk southeast of Southlake Boulevard and S Carroll Street from 11 to 12. It’s time to stand for the Voting Rights Act!

PARK around Central Park which is in front of Central Market on the South side of Southlake Blvd.

Bring your signs, your flags, and your energy! Plus we will have No Kings signs and our Signs of Fascism available.

Guidelines are: No profanity, written or spoken please. Stay on the public sidewalk. This is a peaceful event. Practice de-escalation! Do not engage! The only hand signals allowed are peace signs and friendly waves.

This is the No Kings Era. Use your voice against authoritarian rule, illegal wars and take a stand for democracy!

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Do not engage! Do not take the bait!
