Celebrate Juneteenth with CVI — Friday, June 19, 5–8pm, Carson Park
Join Chippewa Valley Indivisible at the Pine & Oak Pavilions in Carson Park for the 26th Annual Juneteenth celebration, hosted by Uniting Bridges of Eau Claire.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas finally received word that they were free — the last to hear what had already been won. It’s been a federal holiday since 2021, and this year it carries particular weight. At a moment when Black history is being scrubbed from school curricula, DEI programs are being dismantled, and the language of civil rights is under open assault, showing up to celebrate African American freedom and achievement isn’t just meaningful — it’s an act of solidarity.

Juneteenth has always been about more than a date on the calendar. It’s a celebration of resilience, community, and the long, unfinished work of making freedom real for everyone. That’s the kind of gathering CVI wants to be part of.

The evening includes food, drinks, music, speakers, and children’s activities. CVI members will be tabling — sign up for a shift and come celebrate with your neighbors.
