# Turning Point is coming to town! #
## **AND WE DON’T WANT THEM!** ##
Turning Point USA, run by Erika Kirk and espousing White Christian nationalist rhetoric, is hosting an educators’ summit right here in Lake County this month. And we want them to know **they are NOT welcome here in Lake County!** Join us and help us spread the word!
NE Lake County Indivisible is intent upon pushing back on authoritarianism. We know White Christian nationalism and organizations like Turning Point USA aim to dismantle democracy. Trump, the Heritage Foundation, and Project 2025 have laid out the map, targeting pillars of power like our schools. On June 16, alongside our Lake County partner organizations, we will gather peacefully in protest to the dismantling and infiltration of our educational system.
NELC-Indivisible sees our public educational system under attack. We believe our public schools should separate Church and State, and educators should value diversity, equity, and inclusion of all students. We support paying a livable wage to our esteemed educators. And we say **”Hands Off Our Schools!”**
Join our **Honk and Wave Peaceful Protest** to let area residents know what is happening. We want to let Marriott know we see they are catering to Turning Point. And we want them all to know **they are not welcome in Lake County!!**
