### Join Mat-Su United for Progress for our annual summer picnic! Come enjoy good food, crafts, music, conversation, and community with fellow progressives and friends.
MSUP will provide the makings for hamburgers and hot dogs. Attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish, dessert, or snack to share potluck-style.
We’ll also have supplies for rock painting and other crafts—bring a rock to decorate if you’d like! Feel free to bring lawn games as well so we can enjoy the summer evening together. And don’t forget to bring a lawn chair so you can relax and enjoy the festivities.
This year’s picnic will also feature a livestream watch party for *Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment*, hosted by the Committee for the First Amendment and No Kings. The concert celebrates the freedoms of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest, and highlights the power of people coming together in defense of democracy and our communities.
The 90-minute event will feature performances and appearances from Jane Fonda, Patti Smith, Bette Midler, Rufus Wainwright, Sasha Allen, Joy Reid, Wilson Cruz, Broadway Inspirational Voices, and more.
Come sing along, connect with neighbors, and celebrate community, democracy, and the First Amendment together.
