Please join Indivisible Smith County for our next book club meeting on Thursday, July 9th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Village Creamery in Tyler Bergfeld Center. We meet the second Thursday of each month.

For this meeting, we will be discussing the classic 1960 novel: “To Kill A Mockingbird.” Our August book will be “The Frozen River” by Ariel Lawhon.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is set in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the Great Depression, and narrated by a young girl named Scout Finch. The story follows Scout, her brother Jem, and their widowed father, Atticus Finch, a lawyer who defends a Black man, Tom Robinson, falsely accused of raping a white woman, exposing the town’s deep-seated racism and prejudice. The novel explores themes of justice, innocence, and empathy.

If you don’t manage to read it but are interested in the discussion, you are still welcome :-).

Looking forward to seeing you there!
