  • Fight Fascism Friday: Juneteenth Edition

Join us for a special edition of Fight Fascism Friday on Juneteenth.

Juneteenth marks the historic day Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure all enslaved people were finally freed—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Honor our shared history and the enduring spirit of freedom by joining us for an inspiring day of cultural exhibits, storytelling, and community.

While that was in 1865, equality and freedom have still been elusive. The gutting of the Voting Rights Act by the fascists occupying the supreme court will silence many people of color. The justice system also disproportionately impacts black and brown communities.

We will march in support of these communities and to demonstrate that we are not a free country unless everyone is free and has their voice heard.

We will meet at 7 PM in the lot beside Recycled Propaganda and begin our march through the Arts District.

A core principle behind all Indivisible Las Vegas events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Protestors must also abide by Metro rules regarding protesting.
