    Abdul El-Sayed

    Endorsed by Indivisible

Abdul El-Sayed was born and raised in Southeast Michigan and is running for U.S. Senate to make life safer, healthier, and more affordable for working families in his home state. The son of Egyptian immigrants, El-Sayed understands firsthand what’s on the line for Michigan’s immigrant families and stands in formidable opposition to the Trump regime’s weaponization of ICE and DHS.

A proven leader for Michiganders, El-Sayed is known for his record of strengthening public programs and championing progressive reforms. As Director of Wayne County’s Health, Human & Veteran Services Department (HHVS), El-Sayed has successfully erased $27 million in medical debt for thousands of Michanders. In his prior role as Director of Detroit’s Health Department, El-Sayed recovered the agency after near-fatal bankruptcy, took Michigan polluters head-on and removed lead from Detroit’s public elementary schools.

El-Sayed is unafraid to embrace a bold, progressive agenda, and is the only candidate in the race who supports Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, and centering a people-over-profit approach to data centers. He’s running to take down the billionaire class, not enrich it. El-Sayed also rejects all corporate money and is fully grassroots-funded.

Statewide Indivisible Michigan alongside four local indivisible groups have endorsed Abdul El-Sayed because, in the battle against fascism, we need leaders like him. We’re proud to stand with Indivisible Michigan to support El-Sayed in his run to be the next U.S. Senator for Michigan.
