As soon as he took office again, Trump signaled he plans to interfere with the 2026 elections. He’s attempted to get rid of mail-in ballots and overhaul election administration via executive order, previewed more intimidation to come by raiding Fulton County, Georgia’s election hub and the Cleveland offices of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, and ordered his fascist buddies in Texas to gerrymander five new GOP House seats ahead of a wave of gerrymandering across the US after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We know more intimidation and sabotage is coming before, during, and after Election Day, and we need to be ready to mobilize to 1) WIN the midterms and 2) protect the results.
That’s where our Battlegrounds program comes in.
We’re countering Republican shenanigans with an aggressive Get Out The Vote and election defense strategy in seven key states that are particularly vulnerable to GOP tampering, including Ohio. By organizing on the ground, talking to voters early, and building infrastructure and capacity for massive GOTV efforts, we’ll win these crucial midterm elections – and by training 10,000 volunteers for the Election Defense Corps, we’ll have the tools, resources, and people power to disrupt any GOP attempts to subvert the results.

If the raid of Ohio Organizing Collaborative—a pro-democracy non-profit that does voter registration—is any indication, Trump and his authoritarian enablers are laser-focused on meddling in Ohio’s elections this November. FBI agents swarmed the OOC’s Cleveland office and showed up at the homes of the staff, volunteers, and organizational partners. This kind of blatant intimidation is straight out of the Republican playbook, and we should be prepared to counter it—and whatever else Trump brings our way—in November.
We need to act. Together, we can protect the integrity of Ohio’s elections, including guaranteeing Ohio voters can access early voting sites, combating voter intimidation at the polls, and ensuring every single vote in Ohio is counted.
