Join Us Tomorrow at 3:00 PM ET!
Every Thursday, Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg host a participatory conversation on the week’s news, the state of our democracy, and our plan to defeat the authoritarian threats we face.
Listening Circles are where we come to be quiet and listen … and to share. We live in a crazy time and sometimes it helps to be with others who can support and encourage you. Since we are a virtual group for people who are limited by in-person organizing, we still need a place to come and check-in with others. I’d also ask if you have a poem, a short reading, a song/lyrics to share, please do so (see principles below). This is community time. We are located in Virginia, but for now we are open to other regions, especially those adjacent. It’s our hope it will grow and some of you will start your own virtual indivisible organizing. But right now, let’s get it started.
This event is being hosted by Virtual Virginia (VVD6) Indivisible. We are part of the national Indivisible movement. Our mission is to build better relationships between groups working to elect progressive leaders and build healthier communities. Our current areas of focus are voting rights and immigration/criminal justice reforms.
Our group agrees with these five principles: 1. Remake our democracy. We recognize our democracy was rigged from the start in favor of the white and wealthy. We actively work to realize a shared vision of a real democracy — of, by, and for the people. 2. Embrace progressive values. We model inclusion, respect, and fairness in all of our actions. 3. Coordinate and collaborate. We partner with other Indivisible groups on advocacy, elections, and national Indivisible campaigns. 4. Build a strong and strategic movement. We focus our efforts to maximize our impact, winning progressive policy victories and taking power at the local, state, and federal level. 5. Nonviolent actions and events. All events and actions will be nonviolent.
