  • Indivisible on Police Shooting in Wisconsin, Calls for Full Investigation and Accountability

    Jul 23, 2026

Washington, D.C. — Today, Leah Greenberg, Indivisible’s Co-Executive Director, released the following statement in response to the police shooting of a man in Madison, WI:

“The video of the police shooting in Wisconsin is as horrifying as it is painfully familiar. Time and again, we’ve watched law enforcement kill Black men with impunity, and leave families and communities devastated. No one should accept this as normal. There must be a full, transparent investigation, and those responsible must be held accountable. But accountability cannot end with a single case. We must confront and fundamentally rebuild the very systems that continue to allow such corruption, abuse of power and lack of accountability to persist in policing.

“Our hearts are with the loved ones of the man killed by police in Madison and with a community now grieving another life cut short. While nothing can undo the pain of this loss, justice demands accountability, transparency, and a commitment to uproot the systems that allow police violence like this to continue.”
