The next No Kings Day is coming
The next No Kings Day will be different. Join the No Kings kickoff call this Thursday, 9/10 at 8pm ET/5pm PT to learn about the national day of voter participation being planned for this October.
## Join SOMA Action for NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY in downtown South Orange!
### On October 17, we are making sure every eligible voter knows their options for how to vote, has a plan to vote early where local law allows, and is ready to make their voice count.
This NO KINGS DAY will look a little different than previous iterations — it’s not a march or a protest and we won’t have a speaker lineup. This will be a DAY OF ACTION with a mission: to ensure that everyone who’s able to vote does so, and preferably in advance of Election Day.
### We’ll fan out around town for our most EPIC HONK & WAVE yet, so bring a sign that promotes early voting, reminds people to check their registration, and be sure their vote is counted!
Because in America, leaders do not get to choose who votes, whose voices matter, or what future our communities deserve. _The people choose their leaders._
For generations, ordinary people have changed the course of this country by organizing, marching, and voting. Power does not belong to billionaires, strongmen, or politicians who believe they are above accountability.

We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events._
## TAKE MORE ACTION with SOMA Action!! While No Kings is non-partisan, SOMA Action is not! And we are knocking doors for Rebecca Bennett in NJ-7 to flip that district and help flip the House!
So…following the HONK & WAVE, we’re heading to nearby Springfield to knock doors and Get Out the Early VOTE for Rebecca Bennett and send Tom Kean, Jr packing.
NJ-7 is one of the most critical House races in the entire country and we need boots on the ground to turn out her supporters so we can take back the House!
Meet up at 1:30 pm in front of the South Orange Starbucks (11 Sloane Street, next to the SO Train Station) to carpool! We’ll canvass from 2-3:30 pm. For more info about the canvass, message the co-hosts!
