Right now in NYC, immigrant women of color are forced to work 24 hours straight as home health aides, without adequate breaks for sleep or meals, and only get paid for 13 of those hours.

The UN has raised the alarm, and sent a letter calling out the government-sponsored inhumane treatment of these workers.

Fortunately, there is a bill in City Council that would end the 24-hour work day. We just need City Council Speaker, Julie Menin, to bring it to a vote.

Our government can and must do better for all women, home health aides, and patients who require 24-hour care!
