Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence Workshops are designed to help you build resilience, develop skills to keep you and your loved ones safe, and create bonds with those who have been through the same experiences as well as educating and informing the public for prevention. Survivors deserve active, accessible and affordable advocacy, support and the right to heal on their own terms.
This group is ran by peers and volunteers with a few experts coming to speak to us at certain times also. We started this group because we know we have a serious lack of education surrounding this and even sex education itself and in rural areas, we lack these resources and education even more. In a world where there is so much violence put on our children and ourselves as women, we must find and create spaces where we feel safe, comfortable, heard and overall have the support we all need.
Every last Tuesday of the month 5-6pm. The majority of our workshops will be at the Peebles Library in their meeting room. Depending on weather, we may have locations outdoors, at a park or hiking location for the woods or even the private 3rd space we created where our community aid garden is. Our lead, Taryn, will be there to greet you and get us started at each of these groups and workshops.
We are allies and accomplices here.
5-6pm Sexual and Domestic Violence Educational Workshops
6-7pm Women’s Support Group
There are no age restrictions only to make this accessible. We don’t want to make younger children or your children who may need this group to feel like they can’t be apart of it just because of their age. If they have experienced hardship or need a safe space just like we do, we will not be turning them away. We do understand that this could potentially keep conversations from being too deep but if enough girls or younger women would like to attend, we can start a support group for our youth.
Our sexual and domestic violence workshops are to bring awareness to ourselves and our youth to help prevent further violence against children and women. Both of these groups will be for survivors as well as the general public, those who want to learn more to help with prevention and education around sexual violence and assault.

There are no age restrictions. Everyone is welcome. We all need to learn these things to help with prevention. We want these workshops and the support group to be as accessible as we possibly can, that includes rides and childcare. If you have children, you can bring them to the first group or workshop you attend if you need to. A kid’s club will begin once we find more volunteers to help us make this successful as well and we will have them during these times. Once we find enough volunteers and go through background checks, we will talk more about this at the our group meetings or workshops and spread the word more. We’re working towards bringing our villages back. We can’t have a village without villagers.
We want to add to ensure it’s known, when we say women, we are always including trans women as well as non-binary folks who may also need a support system. As soon as we find a better term to use for only women and non-binary folks, the name of this support group will change. We apologize to anyone who may feel left out or uncomfortable to the term Women’s Support Group.
Coffee and snacks will be available. Possibly pizza or other foods for dinner. If you have allergies, please inform us. We hope to see you at one or the other or even both. It matters to our health to have support and we must create spaces that lead to prevention of violence against us.
