On Saturday October 17th at 10 to 11 am, we are hosting “Vote Early” a No Dictators action in Waimea Church Row Park. This is in cooperation with North Hawai’i Indivisible.
Please join us there on 10/17 to plan, celebrate and use our Right to Vote by helping all our neighbors make their voting plan and vote early. Democracy works best when every citizen casts their ballot. No one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. Vote Early will be held at thousands of locations like ours, across our state and the country. These are nonpartisan events designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.
In Hawai’i, all ballots are expected to be delivered in our mailboxes on 10/16. If on Saturday 10/17 you have yours, fully voted, filled out, and sealed, at the end of our event let’s walk together to place our ballots in the secure drop box, across the street next to the Waimea Police Station. (Please do not wear attire that names or depicts a candidate or a party. Hawai’i law prohibits electioneering within 200 feet of a secure drop box or voter service center).
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Dictators: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing **our community** together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
