  • Umbrella Walk Against Genocide

We walk against genocide, past, present, and future. Other messages are certainly welcome; our grievances are many.

We will walk from Columbus Circle at Union Station in Washington DC to the National Museum of the American Indian.

Grab an umbrella. Get to Washington DC. Be seen.

The only way out of this mess is through Congress. We must focus our energy on the center of gravity: the U.S. Capitol.

Join We the People Walk and Indivisible. Show your support of the Constitution. Demand that Congress step up to the role of co-equal branch of government. We seek justice and peace through our elected representatives.

Grab an umbrella. Get to DC. Be seen.

We ask that all participants carry umbrellas. These can have messages, as you would have on protest signs, or they can be without a message. The umbrella is the message.

We have found the best way to decorate an umbrella is to use acrylic paint markers. The 15mm markers are what work best. Be sure to let the pain dry before folding the umbrella after decorating it.

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
