WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tonight, Analilia Mejia won New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District race, marking a major victory for working people and voters demanding a new generation of Democratic leadership willing to fight back. Indivisible endorsed Analilia Mejia in the U.S. House of Representatives primary in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional district after Montclair Sundays Indivisible formally recommended her for a national endorsement.
Mejia built a grassroots movement that is focused on labor rights, affordability, and standing up to millionaires and special interests. By refusing corporate PAC contributions and building a grassroots movement around lowering costs, holding the powerful accountable, and making government work for ordinary people, Mejia offered a clear alternative to politics as usual.
“New Jersey’s 11th congressional district sent a clear message with Analilia Mejia’s victory: the future belongs to the leaders willing to put people over politics as usual and who will fight for working families in Congress. Despite facing a MAGA Republican that is backed by special interests and super PACs, Analilia came out on top with New Jerseyans choosing her vision that is rooted in grassroots organizing and service to her community. She is part of a new generation of leaders willing to challenge the status quo and fight for their communities while holding the Trump regime accountable and delivering for working families. Indivisible congratulates Analilia on this victory, and we are confident she will deliver the representation New Jerseyans deserve,” said Leah Greenberg, Co-Executive Director of Indivisible.
“We are thrilled Rep. Analilia Mejia has been elected to a full term in Congress. We stand with her as she fights for our shared home here in the 11th. She is the voice we need in Washington. We know Rep. Mejia will continue to live up to our mission of advocating for all people of New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District with accountability, transparency, and responsiveness,” said Judy Kelly, Co-Executive Director of NJ 11th for Change.
“Representative Analilia Mejia is the best of our NJ11th community. She has spent the entirety of her career listening to the needs of her neighbors and finding solutions to the problems we all face. Rep Mejia brings a down-to-earth and hardworking sensibility of North Jersey with her into the politics of Congress. She is a fighter for what is right and a stalwart of the Constitution. We believe she will be a voice of reason and help restore the function of our legislative branch during this upcoming term. We could not be more honored to have Representative Analilia Mejia as our Congresswoman,” said Liz Figenshu, Co-Organizer of Montclair Sundays Indivisible.
About Indivisible’s 2026 Electoral Program
Analilia Mejias win is part of the largest midterm election program in Indivisible’s history. Last November, after Senate Democrats surrendered and voted to end the 41-day government shutdown without securing any commitments to lower health care costs or protect working families, Indivisible announced its largest primary program in the movement’s history to turn the page on failed Democratic leadership and elect fighters, not folders.
Indivisible endorsements started with local groups, which endorsed candidates, recommended them for a national endorsement, and then spent months knocking doors, making calls, and sending texts to carry them through competitive primaries and the general election. Many candidates took on establishment-backed opponents and turned down corporate PAC, crypto, AI, and AIPAC money – and 11 Indivisible-endorsed candidates won their primary races across the country.
After a historic primary season, Indivisible Action launched its 2026 General Election Program on a call with thousands of grassroots leaders from across the country. The program had three goals: flip the Senate, win a strong Democratic majority in the House, and build the grassroots power to turn a Democratic victory into aggressive action on accountability, affordability, and corruption in 2027.
The program was built in response to the No Kings movement, which brought millions of Americans into the streets to oppose authoritarianism, corruption, and the concentration of power in the hands of Trump and his wealthy allies. On October 17, the No Kings: Vote Early national day of action held nearly 3,000 voter events nationwide. Across states reporting up-to-date data, early voting that day was up 43% in counties with No Kings: Vote Early events, compared to the last midterms. This built on the three largest protests in American history: No Kings 1, No Kings 2, and No Kings 3.
The midterm election results show that voters want leaders who will fight for them, not protect a corrupt status quo. Indivisible’s polling with Lake Research Partners found that 73% of battleground voters are more likely to support candidates who fight to lower costs and hold the powerful accountable. The incoming Congress must meet that mandate by confronting the Trump regime and its billionaire backers, tackling the affordability crisis, and challenging corruption and entrenched power. Tonight, voters made clear that they expect Democrats to fight for them and deliver results.
