EveryAction

Indivisible has contracted with a vendor, Bonterra, to purchase the use of EveryAction for the Indivisible network. Indivisible works with NGP VAN to acquire the tool, build the system to support the needs of all groups, and make it accessible to everyone who wants it. We will also provide trainings and support staff to assist groups with using this system. Acquiring this resource on your own can cost a group between $2000 to $4000 a month. Indivisible is providing this valuable resource to groups for free.

Because group members will be accessing EveryAction as users under Indivisbile’s agreement with NGP VAN, Indivisible ensures that its users comply with EveryAction’s rules and restrictions. This is why we ask each user to sign the EA User Agreement, which lays out those rules and restrictions as they apply to your use of the tool.

The EA User Agreement also recognizes that groups own the data they put into the tool, as well as the data they gather about their members. This information will be exported for groups if they stop using EA for any reason. One important caveat is that groups are not allowed to export data about people that is from the voter file, because that data is subject to user agreements between Indivisible and the voter file vendors.

Many volunteer management tools and email tools share functionalities. EveryAction brings those functionalities together in one package. This would allow groups to collect more information about an individual. For example, when members’ home addresses are put into the system, EveryAction will be able to find the political districts in which they live and assign them to members’ profiles. If you are already using an existing CRM, please reach out to your organizer for assistance transferring over your data.

EA and MyVoters share a user interface, but have different features, purposes, and data sources.

No – data that local groups enter into EveryAction remains under their control and is not used by Indivisible HQ. Your group’s data is your own.

Groups can use EA to build their own power by tracking information about their members and using that information to make targeted and more efficient asks. Groups will be able to know who shows up to meetings and actions, who is interested in certain issues or areas of activism, and use that information to increase participation and identify leaders. Because EA has a built in mail tool, groups can start to centralize their communications with their members.

Your Action ID

What is an ActionID and why do I need one?

• An ActionID is your login to use VAN or Everyaction. When you are first invited to use one (or both) of these tools, you’ll receive an email invitation from Indivisible staff, and you’ll need to click the “accept invitation” button. This will prompt to either create an ActionID or utilize a pre-existing one (with the email address you were invited through). If you have an existing ActionID through that email address please see the below prompt, but if not please create one with the email address you were invited through.

What if I already have an ActionID?

• If you’ve volunteered in the past for political campaigns then you may already have an ActionID account. That’s great because you can use the same account to volunteer with Indivisible. If it’s been a while and you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset your password using the “forgot my password” button.

Don’t forget to set up 2FA using your phone number and NOT an authenticator app (unless you use one consistently otherwise in your daily life).

What if I forgot my password?

• It’s easy to reset your password with ActionID! In the login screen, just click on “Forgot Your Password,” then enter your email address. You’ll get an email with the subject “ActionID password reset request”. Click on the big blue button that says “Reset Password”.

Counts and Crosstabs allow you to analyze data by comparing various data points.  For example, you can view a target universe by age and city. This is particularly helpful in deciding how to target various subgroups of contact records

Before you begin to use Targeted Email, your administrator will need to make sure your email domain is set up and registered with our system.
