We are happy to announce our new peer-led s*xual viol*nce awareness and s*xual assault survivors group starting for Adams County and the surrounding areas.
Our first group and meeting will be on February 24th at the Peebles Library in the meeting room 6-7pm. Peebles, Ohio. We’re sorry for the inconvenience of our first meeting in January’s being cancelled due to the weather and the library closure. These meetings will be on the last Tuesday of every month. Locations will vary due to attendees county residency and warmer weather.
Survivors deserve active, accessible and affordable advocacy, support and the right to heal on their own terms. This group and the workshops are designed to help you build resilience, develop skills to keep you and your loved ones safe, and create bonds with those who have been through the same experiences as well as educating and informing the public for prevention.
These groups will be for survivors as well as the general public, those who want to learn more to help with prevention and education around sxual violence and asault. I.e.: What is Sxual Vilence, What is and Can be Considered SVolence, Consent 101, What is Grooming, What are Warning Signs, Women’s Health and Anatomy, Self-Defense and more. In hopes we keep our children and community safe.
What to Expect: Bonding, Venting and Relating Mutual Support Trauma-Informing to Foster Healing Education on Women’s Health Sexual Violence Awareness + Education Workshops Skill Building Sharing Resources Safety and Confidentiality
There are no age restrictions. Everyone is welcome. We want this group to be as accessible as we possibly can, that includes rides and childcare. If you have children, you can bring them to our first event if you need to.
A kid’s club will begin soon as well and we will have them during these times. We are accepting volunteers and we will talk more about this at the first group meeting. Most of our meetings (until Spring/Summer) will be at our local libraries and we will move around based on residence of attendees. We’re working towards bringing our villages back.
Coffee and snacks will be available too. We hope you join us. We all need someone or something. We’re here for you. No shame, no judgement, no exceptions.❤️🩹
