Join us for an afternoon of fun, conversation, and crafts!
This a local Indivisible event!
Three activities are planned for the afternoon. Do one, two, or all three!
1) Crochet or knit a ‘Melt the Ice’ hat with the added option of knitting a smaller version as a pin!
2) Make protest signs for No Kings 3.
3) Meditative doodling. And for those of you who are intimidated by the idea of drawing or doodling, there will be mandalas printed for meditative coloring.
Some supplies will be available. If you can, please bring some of your own supplies.
To make protest signs, please bring: post board, markers or poster paint, pencil. You may also want stencils or stickers.
For meditative doodling or coloring please bring black pen, pencil, colored pens or pencils. If you want to supply your own paper for the doodling, we will use the recommended size of 3.5” square. You may want to do more than one doodle!
If you want to knit or crochet, you will need to bring all your own supplies. Patterns will be supplied.
If you want to knit the hat, you will need:
• Approximately 200 yds of *red* yarn in your choice of fingering, DK, or Worsted weight
• 4 double pointed needles in US4 (fingering weight), US6 (DK), or US8 (Worsted)
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
For crocheting a hat, you will need:
• Approximately 200 yds of *red* yarn in your choice of DK or Worsted weight
• Hook size 4.5mm and 5mm
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
For the pin, you will need:
• Although the pattern doesn’t say, I’d guess approximately 20 yds of *red* yarn in Worsted weight
• 4 double pointed size US6 needles
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
And maybe bring a snack or beverages to share!
We will be accepting donations of MoCo IRC.
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
