Howdy Neighbor!
Keweenaw Indivisible, in collaboration with other non-profit organizations throughout Michigan’s First Congressional District, will be hosting a non-partisan meet the candidates forum for the MI01 Congressional seat on the evening of Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 (location and specific times to be determined, although the event will likely be 2 hours total in length). We are reaching out to you as leaders of local political organizations throughout the Copper Country to solicit a question you would like the candidates to answer at the forum. This is to help us ensure that the event is as useful to educating local voters about our candidates’ platforms with regards to matters of real concern or interest to Copper Country residents in a non-partisan manner.
The organizing coalition working throughout MI01 to coordinate these forums has confirmed the interest and commitment of the following candidates:
Kyle Blomquist (D)
Zebulon Featherly (I)
Justin Michal (R)
Wayne Stiles (D)
Location: The Rachel Blau Memorial Auditorium at the Hancock Community Hub, Hancock MI.
Time: The forum will be from 7PM – 9PM.
In coordination with local community leaders, we have provided a set of 8 questions that the community of registering attendees will rank by virtue of vote. The top 4 questions will be asked. A survey of the questions will be sent out after your successful registration. Please keep an eye out!
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
