Since the beginning companies have said if employees didn’t work 12 hours a day “they’d go out of business,” or if they increased the minimum wage “they’d go out of business. Unions have had to fight for every benefit received from employers: weekends, 8 hour workdays, PTO & sick days, a minimum age before working.
